19th century fallow deer from Emperor Franz Josef's castle at Eckartsau in the Southern Austrian Alps, a favorite hunting schloss of the Habsburg Royal family. This historic hunting trophy features a replacement hand-carved linden wood plaque with an Italian polychrome gilding technique, original hunt horn and original Bavarian wappen. “Certificate of Authenticity” included.
This piece measures 33 inches in total height, 31 inches wide (antler spread) and is 21 inches deep.
Part of The European Hunt collection presented by Laurier Blanc, this collection of antique hunting trophies from Royal & Noble European families has been examined and appraised by James Supp of Coronado Trading Co, who is best known for his work with the PBS production "Antiques Roadshow."
