Antique Habsburg Red Stag Trophy on Bronze Shoulder Mount from Eckartsau Castle

This magnificent red stag trophy is crafted with a cold-cast bronze shoulder mount on a hand carved wood Black Forest plaque with the Habsburg Coat of arms mounted at the bottom of the plaque. The antique Habsburg antlers have been expertly mounted to this shoulder mount and are removable for transport and installation. This trophy originates from Emperor Franz Josef of Austria's castle at Eckartsau, a popular hunting Schloss of the Habsburg Family. Detailed oak leaves and acorn carvings are on each side of the plaque with a large, shield-shaped badge at the bottom where the Habsburg Coat of arms Wappen is mounted. The shoulder mount was cold-cast from a mould made of the original handcrafted wood carving, capturing the details of each line in this wonderful mount. The antlers and Wappen are original, 19th century pieces. The shoulder mount and plaque are newly crafted, period-appropriate replacements for these antlers, which lost their original plaque and mounting to woodworm.
This trophy measures approximately: 54" H x 49" W x 34" D (from antler tips to wall).
